About Me

My name is Alyssa, and I’m a trauma-informed Master Practitioner of Clinical Counselling (MPCC-Provisional) here to support your goals with a tailor-made approach to fit your individual needs. I approach every client with empathy, respect, and unconditional positive regard, working with you to explore challenges, highlight strengths, and create meaningful, lasting change.
I believe therapy works best when it feels human - not clinical, rushed, or hierarchical. I approach counselling as a collaborative process, where you are the expert of your own life and my role is to walk alongside you with curiosity, steadiness, and care. Together, we slow things down, explore what’s under the surface, and make sense of how your experiences have shaped the ways you cope, connect, and move through the world.

My approach blends somatic (body) awareness, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Narrative Therapy, as well as attachment-informed exploration, mindfulness, and CBT- and DBT-informed strategies (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy). These tools are always adapted to you — never forced, rushed, or one-size-fits-all. We move at your pace. I offer insight and practical skills, while also sitting with you in the harder emotions and the in-between spaces. You lead; I walk with you.
I hold the perspective that people adapt in the best ways they know how, shaped by their histories, environments, and survival needs. This understanding forms the foundation of my non-judgmental, compassionate approach. Having done my own work of healing and growth, I understand firsthand the courage it takes to show up for yourself. The therapeutic modalities I use are ones I have lived, practiced, and integrated personally.
I specialize in supporting people who are rebuilding themselves after difficult, emotionally harmful, or confusing relationships. Together, we work through attachment wounds, boundary challenges, patterns of self-abandonment, and the deeper emotional experiences that shape how you show up in relationships. My goal is to help you reconnect with who you are, strengthen your sense of self, and create healthier patterns moving forward.
I also work with individuals navigating anxiety, trauma responses, anger, emotional overwhelm, relationship and attachment patterns, identity exploration, and life transitions. Whether you’re seeking clarity, regulation, healing, or a space to understand yourself more fully, we move at your pace. Nothing is rushed, forced, or explored before you feel ready.
My style is warm, collaborative, and gently direct. I aim to be grounding and steady while offering honest reflections and practical tools when helpful. Who you are has already carried you far. Together, we can explore the layers of your experiences and build new ways of moving through the world that feel aligned, resilient, and supportive of the life you want to create.
If you’re curious about working together, I offer a free 30-minute consultation so you can get a feel for the space and ask any questions before beginning.
