About Me
My name is Alyssa, and I’m a trauma-informed Provisional Master Practitioner of Clinical Counselling (MPCC-P). I’m a counsellor who understands that healing isn’t linear, pretty, or perfect. It’s messy, uncomfortable, brave, deeply human and I’m here to walk beside you through all of it.
I don’t sit across from clients pretending life is neat. I’ve done my own work, moved through my own patterns, and sat with the same discomfort I’ll be asking you to sit with. Because of that, I show up with empathy, honesty, and a steady presence you can lean into.
I believe that the ways you cope were shaped by what you lived through. They protected you. They kept you going. My job isn’t to judge or “fix” you, but to help you understand those patterns, honour where they came from, and build new ways of relating to yourself and others that feel grounded and aligned with your values.

My approach blends a variety of methods and modalities that you can find on my Services page if you’re curious about the tools I use. I tailor everything specifically to you. Nothing is forced, rushed, or one-size-fits-all. We move at your pace, and nothing is pushed before you’re ready. I offer insight, grounding, and practical skills, but I also sit with you in the harder emotions and the spaces in between. You lead, and I walk with you.
I work with clients navigating anxiety, trauma responses, emotional overwhelm, anger, identity shifts, relationship patterns, and the feeling of being “stuck” or disconnected from themselves. I also have a particular passion for supporting women who are rebuilding themselves after unhealthy or emotionally confusing relationships. Work that often includes healing attachment wounds, strengthening boundaries, and reconnecting with self-worth. That isn’t my only focus, but it’s an area I’m intimately familiar with – both personally and professionally.
My style is warm, collaborative, and gently direct. I hold space without judgment, but I also speak the truth with compassion when it matters. I can sit with the heavy stuff, the chaotic stuff, the “no one else gets this” stuff. You don’t have to show up polished. You don’t have to make sense yet. You just have to show up, and I’ll meet you exactly where you are.
If you’re curious about working together, I offer a free 30-minute consultation so you can get a feel for me, ask questions, and see whether this space feels right for you.
